Anyway I was off this year for two weeks again and even though I did not completly drive my family crazy I was starting to miss Dave, Christina and Martin and doing way to much Twittering and seeing too many movies.

Being back I am getting closer to another release upgrade of the software that I support and am really happy that I am finally hands on for something besides kids and cleaning the house.

The question that i have is that if we are each already married to women and decide to get married to each other in Mexico, will it be recognized in Canada. Jeff thinks that a person can be married to a man or a woman only once but if you are getting married to a woman once and a man once then it should be OK.

I don’t know about a bridal registry in this situation as well because i am sure that we will continue living with our wives

If an employee experiences difficulty achieving satisfactory attendance, he/she has a responsibility to participate in the development of an action plan (with their leader) to improve attendance.

I could not beleuive what I had just read so I thought about a great conversation that one of the leads could have with a slacker that does not show up because he really just does not care much for his job. So here is the conversation:

Team Lead: Let’s talk about your attendance”
Bad employee: “Yes I would like to come up with a satisfactory action plan to improve my attendance”
TL: “OK, what is it that you need so that you will show up at work more often?”
BE: “How about letting me start later and then reduce my hours, continue to pay me the same money and get rid of the parts of my job that I don’t like?”
TL: “That sounds fair. Let’s get together next month and see if this plan will work toward your schedule and goals better”

Katy, now working 10 feet or so from me was apparently IMing with Mark, who is across the cube wall from me. I am close enough that I could hear the clickity click of both of their keyboards and every 30 seconds or so they would grunt or call out at each other.

I have had enough of SOX. This is the worst knee jerk reaction to a financial problem that has ever been politisized. The problem that I have with SOX is that if I do something wrong then in almost any case I really can still hide the problem. As an IT guy there is no prolem in changing times and dates. The idea of Cross refeerencing and checks and balances is a sham and will never work.

If you want to prosecute corporate criminals go ahead but there is no way to legislate best practices. People that premeditate to do bad is that people will always find the way around the problem.

But until investors realize the holes it will be too late and I will still have spent far too much time in these training sessions and companies around North America will have built up a new cororate governance department for lawyers and accountants to make more money with
