Sadly one of my favorite shows of the new season has been cancelled, My Own Worst Enemy is a show with Christian Slater where he plays some kind of covert operative that has a chip in his head that makes him able to fall into another persona of a family man.
That sysnopsis makes it sound terrible but the show had action and a really original story line.
Another show that got cancelled was Lipstick Jungle, I never watch it but my wife is quiet while watching it off the PVR so that I can surf through every page of the internet so Lipstick Jungles cancellation definitly affects me.
I sure wish people would start watching the show that I like. Last year I watched Studio 60 and it got cancelled. Also last year I was watching Caveman and Carpoolers.
Everyone start watching Fringe, I will be really pissed if that show gets cancelled too

The race is coming, the race is coming
Just three more weeks until the start of the 13th season of the Amazing Race on CBS.
An ex-NFL player and his estranged wife, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and her actor brother, recent divorcees, a pair of Southern belles and fraternity brothers are among the 11 two-person teams hurrying for the finish line — and the $1 million grand prize — on the upcoming 13th edition of CBS’ “The Amazing Race.”
Another team competing is geeky best friends Mark Yturralde, 41, and Bill Hahler, 42. The Comic-Con treasurer and student aid administrator from San Diego have been pals for over 20 years and have auditioned for “The Amazing Race” since the long-running reality series’ third season. The superhero and gaming aficionados said they left their toys at home during the race.

Jaiden got up early this morning as I was getting ready for work and so I had to turn on Treehouse for him to watch something. Max and Ruby was on.
I know that lots of people don’t like Ruby because of the way that she bosses around Max and so she should get some flack, Ruby appears to be only a couple of year older than Max and she is definitly trying to be the mother figure in the house. Anyone with young kids knows how that tends to go over in people households. Bunnys must be different.
Sorry, of topic again. Anyway this morning during Max and Roby I noticed that in between Ruby bossing around Max her friend Louise liked something that Max had, I think it was the Elephant and Louise and Ruby were having a circus. Louise said
“Max is right”
“What” exclaimed Ruby (exclaimed is a popular word in kids books of some unknown reason so I thought that I would use it here as well)
“Max can use his elephant as a trapeze artist” (seemed like a bad idea to me but….)
Thats all from the conversation that I remember becasue it got me noticing that even though Ruby is always bossy I think that Louise more often than not gets her way by taking a side at exactly the same time.
Whether it is bunny scouts or playing with kites, I think that it is always Louise that makes the decision, ruby just thinks that it is all about her.

I was watching my new CHiPs DVDs on the weekend and noticed that John and Ponch have the call names 7Mary3 and 7Mary 4 respectively. I looked up info on the band 7Mary3 and found out that yes indeed they did name the band from watching CHiPs although they refer to John as “the blond guy”
The episodes of CHiPs have been great to watch although the music is different then I remember hearing on the TV. Did they change the music for contractual reasons or is it just a case that the first season has cheesier music than the later seasons? I looked in the CHiPs messageboards but could not find out anything about the music. Alos the picture is pretty good but I guess for a show that is 30 years old the video quality is not as good as the filming options that TV shows have today.

My unnatural obsession with Chips will kick into high gear today. The first season of the great 70’s show Chips is finally out on DVD today. The story begine this show for me may answer some questions.
Back a few years ago I would get up to feed our babies in the middle of the night and TBS Superstation would show old episodes of Chips at around 2 or 3 in the morning. I started even taping epsiodes so that I could watch them in the middle of the evening instead.
The real draw for this show is that it shows vistas of Los Angeles in a time when there was no or almost no smog and really highlights a time of excitement and laid back freedom that the 70’s have always signified to me. The only trouble is there was no internet, no blogs and I was only a kid back then

OK I have two things that I would like to take back this week. I caught about 45 minutes of the American Idol finale last night. I still don’t know why Bette Midler gets any press? Why do people think that anything that the host guy does is cute, it is just pandering? Are there really 74 million people willing to give up a buck to vote for who will win the talent show?
I can not believe how a crew of singers was able to completely ruin Sgt Peppers by the Beatles.
The other time I would like to take back? I didn’t flick the channel when it stopped on the last 5 minutes of the Bachelor. Twice!
The earlier part was when the parents of the guy being studded out were interviewing one of the girls at dinner (This sets the womens movement back about 150 years). And then the end of the show with the token marriage proposal, did the guy “try out” all of the women like they used to do in earlier seasons?

I am disappointed that Rory did not get the Reston Fellowship.
Maybe now she will realize that life in the real world bears no resemblance to Yale

I am a big fan of 24 as is Matt McCaffrey who wrote a great piece on the Orwellian nature of the show 24. The article is a great one in that we get to go beyond the rush and excitement that is the quick hour in real time and looks at the rights violations and the idea that the police state is OK as long as we catch the bad guys.
What would be interesting to look at though and more interesting to me is how the violence on 24 is exciting in it’s own right and after as well. I have relatives in Los Angeles but when the nuke was about to go off and take out part of the city a few weeks ago I was looking forward to it because of the envelope pushing of 24. We do not know what happens when there is a nuclear strike so it is very interesting to see how a fictional show will deal with it. The most intriguing thing then maybe on 24 is not the violence itself but watching the effect and aftermath of the violence.

I was worried that this was going to take a while to get on TV but it seems that all of the filming is already complete for the Amazing Race All Stars and Dave D pointed out to me that today CBS posted the cast for the show.
Should be fun again starting on February 18th
Jeff is angry about Rob and Amber being on the show again but I am more excited about the “little person” Chrala and her bickering with Mirna being on. For some reason I don’t think any of the really angry guys are on and what about the token gay teams? Is there one or none this time? How about the pornstar and her porn producing boyfriend Jonathan and Victoria.
We will see what kind of friction there is but at the very least I am hoping that Rob and Amber get under everyones skin like last time to at least add more drama then we just had last season.
