What is with Extreme Makeover Home Edition? I watched last season when they had deserving families get a house built on their lot to replace a crappy house already there. Whoever the marketing brains are behind this show are, they have definitely raised the stakes this season.
Last week was a two hour special that highlighted a woman who had her daughter kidnapped ten years ago and has dedicated herself to helping families find kidnapped kids, she has helped 100 families find their kids. She had a house built for her and her two kids and the cast did all sort of things to protect kids, fingerprinting and photos of all kids in the neighborhood. As well the cast put up billboards trying to help find the lady’s missing daughter.
This week the show went to Denver and found two homeless families and an empty lot. They built a house for the two homeless families, found a bunch of homeless people and brought them on a shopping spree at Sears and redesigned the local community center, lastly they helped one homeless guy find a full time job.
The show is great in that it enlists people in the community to make a difference and it is a real tear jerker to watch especially this season with the real gripping stories that they are showing.
