Last weekend I was with the kids and wife at a local school park and realized that the walk to the park would be too far for the kids to walk back so I walked home to grab the car. At the far end of the school field is a small stand of trees and as I was walking towards it I noticed a guy rummaging around it. Not the kind of place for homeless guys, but hey everyone could use a little walking around money so maybe he was looking for bottles. Turns out the guy was just standing there peeing and my walking by wasn’t enough of a reason to stop.
today I was riding down a gravel road on the way to work and as noisy as it is there was a guy that was standing at the back of his truck. As I rode up to him i realized that he didn’t have anykind of vehicle problem, just stopped for a whizz. Well again this guy did not bother stopping for my riding by and I know that I do not have the ability to become invisible (what a cool superpower that would be).
So is this a part of a growing trend? Are guys everywhere just going to start pulling it out whenever the urge comes? At the mall, on the side of the street, waiting for a table in a restaurant?
I know that for men public urination may be pretty easy to do but are women going to start peeing in public as well? It would be a lot more difficult as the equipment does not really allow the same freedom to women as it does to men but positions could change I guess.
As a recognition to this trend I am going to take public urination a lot more seriously. I am going to look around and see if there are any easy places to do this and keep a vigilant eye for this new widespread territorialism that some men are making themselves free to persue.
This may yet become a mass movement and just think Football season is just around the corner.
