I have supported lots of people with very full inboxes and never undertood why they would allow it to happen, until now. I started my current job two years ago and at that time I just let my inbox will as I have 250 megs to work with on the exchange server and before long I was more or less buries in read but just sitting there mail. Last year I discovered Google Desktop search and Google has only made my inbox worse. Now with a quick search I can get through my mail and have no problem finding a single piece of text in one email out of the current 5677 items in my inbox. My next step may be to setup a pst file on my home folder so that I can have my emails safe and still google searchable and that leads to a great email sorting and exising tutorial at 43 folders.
I just found an article series called 43 Folders Series: Inbox Zero and will try to dump all of the stuff that I can to my pst or into the abyss of Outlook 2003 deleted Deleted Items and start living a life more in tune with my life quest of a simpler, less congested life (I am not even close if anyopne is keeping score).
