A loud quiet weekend

I was dreading the weekend without Michelle and the kids around so I knew the best bet was to stay busy. Busy without busy work.

Friday afternoon on the way home from work I rented the extended versions of both the first and second Lord Of The Rings movies and watched the first on Friday night and it was great, but I still did not have a plan for the rest of the weekend.

On Satuday I popped in the second one only expecting to watch it for a few minutes but instead watched almost three hours of it and finally later in the afternoon watched the end and went to the theater to see The Return of The King on the big screen, Oh I forgot to mention that with the surround I believe I had the same volume for the first two movies as I did at the theater (pity the neighbors).

I was exhausted for some reason after watching all of those action movies so yesterday I spent the morning in Kananaskis hiking around the river and enjoying the sunshine and then zipped over to my parents for pizza dinner and a chance to reinstall the OS on my mom's computer.

All in all it was a great way to spend a weekend. I can't wait for Michelle, Taylor and Jaiden to get back now!

Happy Family Day

It's Family Day here in Alberta so most people are off, that is most people except me. It was really quiet getting downtown and I am sure it will be the same getting home. Michelle is getting ready to go to Vancouver so she is running around today getting Taylor and Jaiden set to go and once they leave I will have a bit of quiet for a week.

Peas in my pants

Well today was the day. I got snipped, neutered, the big "V" or one of many ways to put it. I had my long planned Vasectomy today. Last night I had to shave, that in itself was really uncomfortable as I have only ever shaved my face before, at least there were no shaving cuts. Today was supposed to be painless, scalpelless and was not entirely that way.

My surgery took place in a doctors office and although I was not to shy about showing anything I was a little nervous about the freezing, ends up the freezing was not to bad it was the cauterizing that hurt. All in all it took about 15 minutes and when I got out Michelle was laughing "what the hell was that" I apparently screamed a little loud when I was in there.

Now I am just laying on the couch with a bag of peas in my pants!
