Jaiden is off the bottle

We have successfully weaned Jaiden from his nightly bottles.

For the longest time Jaiden did not have a bottle except at night when he was going to sleep and then a couple of times during the night whenever he woke up. Saturday morning we had him throw out his bottles and now after a couple of restless nights he has now finally slept through the night last night as well as the night before.

This is a great time at home! The transition has been fabulous!

Kids at an airport

As you may or may not know I work at WestJet and there are many advantages and some disadvantages to working there. Here is how my day went on a Saturday with WestJet.

Taylor is going to Abbotsford to visit the grandparents out there for a week during Spring break. I get free flights (well not totally free but darn cheap!) so I am going to drop her off and then take the flight back tp Calgary as the plane does it's turnaround. This is one of the great things about working for an airline the almost free flights can really come in handy, problem is that you have to fly standby which means that we had to hope for an empty couple of seats. Well this morning there was only one seat free so as an airline employee I could have flown in the cockpit but as soon as Taylor heard we would be seperated she burst into tears...we didn't take that flight.

Checked in again, went home, went back to the airport, went through security again and this time we got on the flight and out to Abbotsford and I got back.to Calgary. Here I am back at home and the whole process took all day and 8 times return to the airport. I am really laid back about all this and Taylor and I had a great day together. I hope she has a great time away for the week.

Taylors birthday

Taylor had a birthday a few weeks ago now and we had a family birthday as well as a birthday party with her friends from school but Michelle and I have not gotten her anything for her birthday yet. One of the problems that we are having is looking back at all of the presents and toys that we have gotten her in the past, it would be nice to get her something that will be great for her and that she will like. A family pet? A PlayStation? A game boy? We are not really sure yet and hopefully the right thing will spring up on us soon or it will turn into just a generic doll or toy puppy like gift that she will probably forget about by the time summer comes.
